Beautiful RHS Harlow Carr in August- stunning day !

What can I say??? Well actually not a lot as I am virtually completely hoarse having shouted so much for Team GB at the World Athletics championships! But I was so lucky when we got back to go to RHSHarlowCarr to study the garden in August on the most fabulously beautiful day. I stayed well after everyone had left which was a real treat, as even tough it is lovely to see so many children enjoying the garden, playing hide and seek, rolling down the banks and of course throwing the odd tired wobbly. It is also nice to have complete quiet! I gathered so much inspiration and am itching to continue working on a whole range of ideas for paintings for " August".

For those of you that are not aware I am aiming to produce at least 12 paintings and accompanying sketches to be shown at RHS Harlow Carr Garden Show next year in June and also to preview them at RHS Chelsea Flower Show, to promote yorkshire gardens.

It's not easy being on artist but on days like this, I am reminded many times over of how lucky I am. Whether I will be saying that in January when I will be in the garden in freezing temperatures we will see . For now I am off on my holiday and will not be painting at all!
